ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
A szerző ismerteti e ritka, sok vitára alkalmat adó fültőmirigy daganattal kapcsolatos világirodalmi adatokat. Részletesen feldolgozza saját 36 betegükkel szerzett tapasztalataikat, s megállapítja, hogy az adenoid cystikus carcinoma - bár rosszindulatú daganat - időben végzett korrekt műtéttel az esetek nagy részében gyógyítható. A betegek túlélését — a megfelelő műtéten kívül — főleg a nem, a daganat műtét előtti fennállási ideje, arcideghez való viszonya, klinikai stádiuma, s nem utolsó sorban hisztológiai szerkezete határozza meg. Ezért a szerző hangsúlyozza, hogy a szövettani alcsoportokba sorolás nem öncélú, s a végleges lelet birtokában szükség esetén a műtétet második ülésben ki kell terjeszteni.

SUMMARY
The author reviews the literary data on the parotidean tumors, which show rare occurrence and give cause to much debate. The experiences with their own 36 patients are elaborated in details and it is stated that the adenoid-cystic carcinomas - though malignant tumors - can be cured in a considerable part of the cases with correct operation performed in proper time. Besides the satisfactory operation, the sex, the period of existence of the tumor before the operation, its relationship with the facial nerve, the clinical state and last but not least its histological structure determine the survival of the patients. The author emphasizes that the classification into histological subgroups is not a purpose in itself and if necessary the operation has to be expanded in a second sitting on the basis of the final report.
