ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
A szerző ismerteti a szaglás szerepét az emberi szervezet összműködésében, áttekinti a szaglásvizsgálat módozatait. Bemutatja az általa szerkesztett, kvalitatív szaglásvizsgálatra alkalmas olfaktométert. A készülék kialakításával a klinikumban általánosan alkalmazható, standard vizsgálóeljárás lehetőségét kívánta megteremteni, amely mind az ép, mind a károsodott szaglásfunkció vizsgálatát lehetővé teszi.

Clinical possibilities of the examination of the olfactory function.
The role of the olfactory function in the cooperation of the human organism is discussed and the methods of the examination of the function are reviewed. The olfactometer suitable for the qualitative examination of the olfactory function and constucted by the author is presented, — with this divice examintaions on 12 smelling substances may be performed at constant temperature. The recipient containing the smelling substances and the filter system are constructed exclusively from glass. With the construction of this device the author aimed at assuring the possibilities of finer diagnostics of the olfactory function, to be generally used in the clinical practice, and allowing the examination of both the normal and impaired olfactory function.
