ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
A szerző üzemi audiometriás szűrések és intoxikált betegek audiologiai kivizsgálása alapján elemzi az ototoxikus vegyianyagok okozta halláskárosodásokat, és azokat egybeveti állatkísérleti eredményeivel. Kimutatja, hogy az egyre terjedő szerves foszforsav-észterekhez tartozó növényvédő szerek is ototoxikus hatással bírnak. Megállapítja, hogy ezen szerek, valamint a fémek, a szénmonoxid és a szerves oldószerek ototoxikus hatására jellemző a perceptiós típusú mélyhang-károsodás. Felhívja a figyelmet a zajártalomtól való elkülönítésre.

Toxic hearing impairments of the inner ear. - Part IV.: Toxic hearing impairments.
On the basis of industrial audiometric screenings as well as of the audiologic examinations of intoxicated patients the hearing impairments caused by ototoxic chemical substances were analysed by the author, and the results of these examinations are compared with the author’s results obtained in animal experiments. He has found that also the vegetal prophylactic substances coming more and more in general use and belonging to the organic phosphoric acid esters may have ototoxic effect. It is stated by the author that the low tone deafness of perception type is characteristic to the ototoxic effect of the above-mentioned substances, as well as of the metals, the carbon monoxide, and the organic solvents. The importance of the differentiation of the hearing impairment and the noise nuisance is emphasized by the author.
