ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
A szerzők összefoglalják a csecsemő- és gyermekkori szövődményes sinusitisek etiológiá- jának, tünettanának, kórismézésének legfontosabb adatait, majd 23 év alatt észlelt 145 szövődményes esetük terápiás tapasztalatát ismertetik. A szemtünetekkel járó ethmoiditisek mintegy 5/3-a konzervatív kezelésre gyógyult, peribulbáris tályog kialakulása esetén orbitotomiát végeztek; ethmoidectomiára ritkán került sor, inkább nagyobb gyermekek vagy recidiva esetén. Szövődményes, rendszerint pansinusitis részjelenségeként fellépő arcüreg- és homloküreg-gyulladás, illetve osteomyelitis esetén a műtéti feltárással — még erélyes, szélessávú antibiotikumok birtokában — sem szabad soká késlekedni. Ennek fontosságát 3 súlyos esetük bemutatásával támasztják alá, kitérve a műtéti és antibiotikus kezelés, valamint az arcüregpunkció javallatainak, részletkérdéseinek megvitatására is.
SUMMARY
Complications of sinusitis in infancy and the childhood.
The most important data of the aetiology, symptomatology and diagnosis of the sinusitis of infants and children are resumed and the therapeutic experiences observed by the authors im 145 cases with complications treated during 23 years are reported. Approximately 2 /3 of the ethmoidites concomitant with ocular symptoms could be healed, in case of development of peribulbar abscess orbitectomy was performed, — ethmoidectomy was but rarely carried out, in the majority in older children or in the case of relapse. Complications may be maxillary sinusitis and frontal sinusitis, appearing usually as partial phenomena of .pansinusitis, and osteomyelitis, — in these cases - even if broad spectrum antibiotica are available - surgical intervention is to be performed as soon as possible. This is demonstrated by the authors in three cases, — also the indications and the details of the surgical and antibiotic treatment, as well as those of the maxillary punction are dealt with by the authors.
