ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
Perifériás elhelyezkedésű mastoid cellákban elektronmikroszkóppal csillét sikerült kimutatni és a hám jellegzetessége alapján secretiós tevékenységet feltételeznek. Emberi dobüregben és tengerimalac bulla tympanicajában a csillék mellett secretorikus sejteket is találtak, és mindkettőben nagyítóval csilié mozgást és festékvándorlást figyeltek meg. A mastoid cellákban megfigyelt elektronmikroszkópos kép alapján feltételezik, hogy öntisztulási célból itt is nyákvándorlás van. A nyákréteg igen lassan, celláról cellára halad az antrum és dobüreg felé, majd a tubán keresztül egyre fokozódó sebességgel távozik. Feltehető, hogy a nyákáramlás akadálya, a csillók bénulása, vagy a nyákter- melós zavara okozza a serosus és mucosus otitist, majd a Cholesterines granu- lomát.

SUMMARY
By means of electron-microscopic examinations, in peripheric mastoid cells cilium has been detected, and on the basis of some characteristic features of the epithelium, secretory activity is supposed by the authors. In the tympanic cavity of the man and in the tympanic bulla of the guinea-pigbeside the cilium also secretory cells have been found by the authors, and in both cilium movements and stain migration could be observed with magnifier. On the basis of the electron-microscopic picture observed in the mastoid cells it is presumed by the authors that for the purpose of self-purification mucus-migration occurs even in this area. The mucus-layer progresses very slowly, from cell to cell, in the direction of the antrum and the tympanic cavity; and through the tuba, it is eliminated with steadily increasing rapidity. It may the supposed that the serous or mucous otitis is due to the impediment of the mucus flux, the paralysis of the cilia or the disturbance of the mucus production, leading to cholesterin granuloma.
