А IV. kér. Iskola-szakorvosi Rendelőben megforduló iskolások között igen sok idült fülfolyásban szenvedő gyermek van, jelentősen csökkent hallással. Eddigi — több helyen folytatott — kezelésük általában nem hozott kielégítő eredményt.
Conservative therapy of chronic mesotympanic suppuration, otorrhoea and secondary impaired hearing.
SUMMARY
Mesotympanic otorrhoeas could have been eliminated in approximatively 91 per cent of schoolchildren. (Burow-stripe with jodoform, powdering with superseptyl boric acid and oral antibiotic and superseptyl).
The hearing also improved considerably in nearly 84 per cent of the cases. Beside drying up of the ear this should be attributed to:
1. following the administration of the drugs the typmanic cavity become free of pathological tissues and thus the transformation of the pressure of the sound waves increases;
2. the fine, plain regeneration tissue which most probably develops also in the area of the foramen rotundum and in this manner avoids the sound wave interference in the inner ear; which produces considerable impairment of hearing..
