ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
Ismertetik az osztályon 2 óv alatt peritonsillaris abscessus diagnosissal ápolt betegek adatait. 143 betegnél végeztek abscesstonsillec- tomiát a másik oldali mandula egyidejű eltávolításával együtt, minden káros mellékhatás nélkül. Eredményeik alapján a műtétnél antibioticum adását sem tartják szükségesnek. Mivel a műtét technikailag nem jelent nehézséget, a betegre nézve feltétlenül előnyös, és az ápolási időt is megrövidíti, széles körben való alkalmazását ajánlják.
Experiences Concerning the Treatment of Peritonsillar Abscesses
SUMMARY
The authors describe the data of patients treated for peritonsillar abscesses at their ward during two years. They removed the pus from the abscess-cavity by puncture and the matter was sent to bacteriological investigation. After this abscesstonsillectomy was made and at the same time the opposite tonsil too was removed. From a technical point of view the operation did not cause any difficulties and hemorrhages or consecutive hemorrhages did not occur more frequently than in the case of usual tonsillectomies. Harmful side-effects and complications were not observed. On the basis of their investigations they came to the conclusion that even the administration of antibiotics is not necessary. The operation is more advantageous for the patient than exposition of the abscess and after this a tonsillectomy performed in a cicatrized environment. Besides that the time of treatment is shorter too and therefore the authors recommend this method for extensive use.
