Caissonban végzett munka hatására a közép és belsőfülben jöhetnek létre elváltozások. A középfül károsodásainak áttekintése után a belsőfülben kialakuló tünetcsoport klinikájával és pathologiájával és az ezzel kapcsolatos vizsgálatainkkal foglalkozunk.
Effects of Caisson-Work on the Ear.
SUMMARY
The authors are concerned with the barotrauma and Meniere’s syndrome developing in pressure workers and with the functional changes of the internal ear. They report on the pathogenesis of the barotrauma and its most frequent symtoms. Then they discuss in detial the pathogenesis, pathology and clinics of Meniere’s syndrome and report on thir own investigations in this field. The authors performed otological examination of 183 pressure workers. Out of this number there were 52 cases free frm complints and 131 cases suffering from decompression-disease. They found an average by audiometric examination loss of hearing of more than 20 dBt in 40 per cent of the healthy workers and in 70 per cent of the afflicted ones. Vestibular irritability has been reduced in 18 per cen of the healthy and in 40 per cent of the sick. Then the authors give an exhaustive report on the effect of the noise in the caisson on the loss '"f hearing. Their investigations showed that the noise did not play any important pej n the loss of hearing.
