ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
Acusticus neurinoma (a. n.) statisztikai adatok szerint a középkorúak — 40—50 évesek — betegsége. Bilaterális és Recklinghausen kórral kapcsolatos a. tumorok serdülőkorban is előfordulhatnak (Tomits 16 és 17 éves esete), unilateralis (u.) a. n. gyermekkorban— 15 év alatt — azonban egészen kivételes. Nagy anyagot felölelő gyermekkori agytumoros statisztikákban (.Bailey és mtsai 100 eset, Craig és mtsai 427 eset) u. a. n. egyáltalán nem szerepel.
Case of Extensive Unilateral Neurinoma in Childhood.
SUMMARY
After a short survey of the 7 eases of unilateral acoustic neurinoma reported up till now in literature the authors describe the case of a 10 years old girl suffering from this disease. This case is ranking on the second place in the literature from the point of view of the patient’s age and quite unmatched as to the size and location of the growth. The hen’s egg sized, bulky tumor penetrates into the scala media extending through the foramen occipitale magnum to the upper section of the dorsal canal. The authors emphasize the the moderate perceptiv loss of hearing on the affected side, the early cerebral pressure-symptoms and call attention to the significance of the spontaneous vertical nystagmus. The necessity of modern functional methods of othological examination and of tomographic patterns of the petrous bone for early diagnosis of the disease are stressed too.
