ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
Anamnesis: N. Gy. 53 éves férfibeteget 1937. március 17-én stridor, nagyfokú cyanosis és fuldoklási rohamok közepette a mentők hozták ambulanciánkra. A beteg megmentése érdekében minden előkészület nélkül felső légcsőmetszést végeztünk. A légzés biztosítása után tudjuk meg, hogy rekedtsége 4 év óta áll fenn, 2 év óta nehezebb munkánál (kovácsmester) fullad, egy hét óta sűrűn fuldoklási rohamok fogják el.
Odd case of Severe Cancer of the Throat Treated with X-ray Therapy.
SUMMARY
Because of danger of asphyxia tracheotomy had been suddenly performed on a patient. The growth filling up almost entirely the lumen of throat has been histologically proved to be epithelioma malignum. The patient has not consented to his being operated on. In consequence of a palliative roentgen therapy (5000 r) the growth regressed and the patient was symptom-free for 10 years but the tracheotomy tube remained all the time inserted. After 10 years a new neoplastic growth occurred. The histological study of the new growth qualified it as ca. spinocellulare. On using X-ray therapy (Coutard 4000 r) the neoplasm disappeared and three years after the patient died of severe internal diseases (arteriosclerosis, coronary thrombosis and edema pulmonum). The autopsy findings have histologically pointed out ca. spinocellulare amidst the cicatrices of the seemingly growth-free throat.
