ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
Eyries 1946-ban új műtéti eljárást közölt az ozaena gyógyítására. A műtét térszűkítő eljárás, az orrüreget a nyálka-, illetve csonthártya és a csont közé helyezett methylakrylat betétekkel szűkíti be. A betéteket két tasakban helyezi el, az egyik tasakot az orrsövény, az orrfenék és az alsó orrjárat nyálkahártyájának leválasztásával, a másikat hasonló módon a középső orr járat oldalsó falán és az alsó kagyló domborulatán alakítja ki.

SUMMARY
Eyries’ acrylate implantation as a cure of ozaena has been introduced in the Otolaryngologic Clinic of Budapest University in 1947, and it has been applied since then with some modifications. Authors examined in 1954 the patients operated 6 to 8 years previously. They found that tho early results were not permanent. Authors discuss the modifications, and the factors accountable for the deterioration of good early results. Out of 65 patients, very good results were found in 23 p. c., rather good in 34 p. c. and bad ones in 43 p. c. In their opinion, this procedure is, with the suggested modifications, suitable for the contraction of cavities which are behind not too wide, because it is easy to perform, well tolerated by the patients, no after-treatment is needed, complications occur almost never.
