ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
Az orvostudományban a prevenció kerül mindinkább előtérbe. A szerző a gyermek fül-orr-gégészet jelen feladatait és jövő irányzatait is ennek tükrében mutatja be. A primer prevenció irányzatai a szakma területén: az egészségügyi felvilágosítás (levegőszennyezés, balesetek, zaj, pszichés ártalmak) csökkentése; genetikai módszerek fokozott alkalmazása („human genome project”, fötális diagnosztika, eufenikai program); effektiv szűrővizsgálatok a hallás-, beszéd-, nyelvi és hangképzési zavarok kiszűrésére; kiterjesztett védőoltások; epidemiológiai, statisztikai tanulmányok. A szekunder prevenciót szolgálja a diagnosztikai eljárások és technológiák tökéletesítése (röntgeneljárások komputerizációja, képek elektronikus tárolása, pozitron emissziós tomográfia, az endoszkópos eszközök fejlesztése, széleskörű alkalmazása a foniátriában, fonokirurgiában, gyermekrhinologiában). Tercier preventiót jelent az adekvát korai terápia, chemoprofílaxis, implantációs és transzplantációs eljárások javítása, műtéti beavatkozások kockázatának és szövődményeinek csökkentése, a (re)habilitációs eljárások tökéletesítése. A szerző összefoglalja a gyermek fül-orr-gé- gészet és a határterületi diszciplinák legfontosabb területem eddig elért eredményeket, az alkalmazható prevenciót, a diagnosztikus és terápiás módszereket, kitekintést nyújtva a XXI. századra.

SUMMARY
Prevention comes more and more into prominence in medical science. The author presents the actual tasks and trends of future of pediatric E. N. T. in the mirror of these themes. The primary trends of prevention in the field of profession are: the wide-spreading propagation of hygienic instruction; the reduction of deleterious environmental results (as airpollution, accidents, noise, psychogene injuries; adoption of genetical methods in a greater extent (”human genome project”, fetal diagnosty, eufemical programme); the effective screening examinations to sift out the disturbances of hearing-, speech, language- and voice-formation; the extended vaccinations; epidemiological, statistical studies.
The secondary prevention is served by bringing to perfection of diagnostical methods and technologies (computerization of x-ray methods, electronical storage of pictures, positron-emissional tomography, the development of endoscopic instruments, their wide-spreading application in phoni- atry, phonosurgery and pediatric rhinology).
Prevention of thrice degree means the adequate early-therapy, chemoprophylaxis, the improvement of implantational and transplantational methods, the reduction of risks and complications of operative interventions, the bringing to perfection of (re)habilitation-methods.
The author summarizes the results achieved till now in most important fields of pediatric E. N. T. and branches of knowledge of borderlands, the applicable prevention, the diagnostical and therapeutical methods, rendering a help to looking out to the XXIst Century.
