SUMMARY
The authors report on the case of a congenital cholesteatoma shwoing the characteristics of cerebellopontine tumor and causing nystagmus alternans. The attention is drawn to the fact that this infrequent symptom may be also the sign of an expansion in the posterior cranial fossa.
