Idült középfülhurutban szenvedő gyermekek gyógyulásának követése során, egy bizonyos sorrend figyelhető meg. Leghamarabb a küszöbgörbe normalizálódott, később lesz ép a tympanogram. Ép tympanogram esetén sem lehet mindig stapediusreflexet kiváltani, előfordul, hogy a reflex csak hónapok múlva tér vissza. A kisgyermekek hallásának megítélésére ezért a stapediusreflex csak korlátozottan alkalmas.

SUMMARY
Certain order could be observed in the course of the follow-up of the recovery of children suffering from chronic middle ear catarrh. The threshold curve returned earliest to normal and the tympanogram became later intact. Even with intact tympanogram the stapedius reflex cannot be elicited in every case, the reflex returns in some cases only several months later. Thus the use of the stapedius reflex for the determination of the hearing of small children is suitable only at a limited rate.
