ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
Az ultrafeszültségü sugártherapia jelentős haladást hozott a maxilloethmoidalis daganatok kezelésében. Az eredményes telekobalt-besugárzás feltételei: a daganat pontos lokalizálása, a dóziseloszlás homogenitása és a megfelelő idő alatt leadott kellő nagyságú tumordózis. A radikális gócdózisú telekobalt- besugárzás, melyet minden operabilis esetben műtét előtt indikálnak, az esetek egy részében a későbbi műtétet fölöslegessé teheti. Inoperabilis, a konvencionális röntgentherapia korában incurabilis daganatok egy része telekobalt- besugárzással a gyógyulás reményével kezelhető.v
Prim,ary results of the telecobalt irradiation of the maxillo-ethmoidal tumours
SUMMARY
The ultra-tension radiation therapy assured considerable progress in the treatment of the maxillo-ethmoidal tumours. The preconditions of the successful telecobalt irradiation are: the exact localization of the tumour, the homogeneity of the dose distribution and the suitable tumour dose, given in adequate time. The telecobalt irradiation with radical focal dose — indicated in all operable cases before the intervention — renders the subsequent operation in one part of the cases unnecessary. Some inoperable tumours — held incurable in the era of the conventional X-ray therapy — may be treated with the telecobalt irradiation in the hope of recovery.
