ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
A mumps vírusa nemcsak a nyálmirigyek, hanem különböző szerv- rendszerek megbetegedését is előidézheti. Különböző szövődmények: orchitis, oophoritis, pankreatitis, Bartholinitis, chronicus thyreoiditis, cohlearis és vestibularis kiesés stb. jöhetnek létre. A szerző esetében fiatal nőbetegnél submandibularis mumpsot kísérő féloldali garat- és gége oedema lépett fel, mely nyelési és hangképzési zavarokat okozott. A mumpsot kísérő garat és gége oedema a gyér irodalmi adatok szerint leginkább azokon a felnőtt betegeken fordul elő, akiknél a megbetegedés a submandibularis nyálmirigyeken kezdődött. A szerző esete is ezen megfigyelést támasztja alá.

SUMMARY
The virus of the mumps may give rise not only to the disease of the salivary glands hut to that of various other organs too. A lot of complications, for instance orchitis, oophoritis, pancreatitis, Bartholinitis, chronic thyreoditis, cochlear and vestibular troubles etc. may come about in this way. In the described case unilateral edema of the pharynx and the larynx associated to the submandibular mumps occurred in a young female patient causing dysphagia and phonatory troubles. According to the rather poor data to be found in the literature on this subject laryngeal and pharyngeal edemata associated to mumps occur mostly in adult patients with whom the disease began in the submandibular salivary glands. The case described by the author corroborates this observation too.
