ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
Közel negyedévszázados klinikai működésem alatt tanúja voltam sok orvosi sikernek, de váratlan balsikerek sem maradtak el. Vonatkozik ez a fül-orr-gégegyógyászat minden területére, de talán leginkább a gége rosszindulatú daganatainak diagnosztizálására. Klinikánkon szinte minden napra jut egy-egy próbakimetszés a gégéből és majdnem minden negyedik napra egy gégeműtét. Minden próbakimetszés után gazdagodtunk egy-egy tapasztalattal, a gége műtétek során eltávolított gége, vagy gégerészlet makroscopos vizsgálata pedig igazolta, vagy kiegészítette a gégetükri kép alapján kialakult elképzelésünket. A sok operált gége szemtől-szembe való megtekintése után, le kell vonni azokat a tanulságokat, amik előnyösen befolyásolhatják a jövőben műtétre kerülő betegek sorsát .
Difficulties in Diagnosticating Tumors of the Larynx.
SUMMARY
The destiny of patients with carcinoma of the larynx may be influenced in a very high degree by the circumstance wheter the histological diagnosis made on the basis of the exploratory excision taken after the clinical symptoms have been recognized are true or not. It is by no means indifferent for the patient if repeated exploratory excisions are needed or net as long as the presence of a malignant growth may be proved in accordance with the clinical picture or until the malignant tumor may be excluded. Such histological diagnoses are generally coming too late in consequence of which larger surgical interventions are needed with smaller chances of recovery. The considerations treated in the paper are aimed at giving some aid in obtaining a correct early diagnosis.
