ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
Az orrmelléküregek rosszindulatú daganatainak kérdése még ma is nehéz probléma.
Engedtessék meg, hogy Serzer professzor iskolájának ez irányú tapasztalatait és álláspontját ismertessem. Ezen 108 ágyas intézetnek beteganyaga, Jugoszlávia legnagyobb beteganyaga. 1947. január 1-től 1962. december 31-ig tehát 16 év alatt intézetünkben 247 rosszindulatú orr és melléküreg daganatot kezeltünk. Ezen eseteknek 80%-a már késői stádiumban került hozzánk, a betegeknek 60%-a korábban már egyéb helyeken is kezelés alatt állott. Az esetek ¼-ét sem ismerték fel.

SUMMARY
Summing up our data we can say that 51 per cent of our patients outlived with five years the operation. The majority of the patients operated on died in the third year after surgery. Those not operated on or having got no treatment died within the first year. Eight patients out of eleven getting only cytostatic treatment died in the first year and three ones in the second. We compared our data with those of Henschel (Belgium), Struten (Holland), Brun (Switzerland) and found that they coincide well with those of the latters.
It should be stressed at last, that according to our experience surgery of the malignant tumors of the nose and nasal sinuses yields good results only when a radical operation and radiotherapy are suitably combined.
