Amióta L. Corvisart 1857-ben a pancreas trypsin (továbbiakban Try.) nevű fehérjebontó fermentjét felfedezte, nemcsak az élettan kutatóinak, hanem a gyakorló klinikusoknak is állandó érdeklődési tárgya volt. Elsősorban idült gennyes folyamatok kezelésére próbálták felhasználni.
The treatment of some oto-rhino-laryngological suppurative processes by trypsin.
SUMMARY
After reviewing the history of the clinical use of trypsin the administration of the compound in suppurative processes of the sinus maxillaris, in otitis media, in suppurative radical cavity and in patients with ozaena is reported. According to the observations of the author encouraging results were obtained in the treatment of acute suppurative processes of the maxillary sinus. Its otological use requires further through study. Since the writing of this manuscript too, the drug has been used with good results in ozaena, its use is recommended to the symptomatological treatment of this disorder.
