ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:
A penicillin felfedezésekor minden remény megvolt arra, hogy a baktériumos eredetű fertőzéseknek gátat emelhetünk. Az egész világon széles kör ben végzett vizsgálatok és megfigyelések alapján azonban ma már azt látjuk, hogy a legtöbb kórokozó rezisztenciája az antibiotikumokkal szemben növekszik.
Rapid Healing of a Pneumonia on the Administration of Salvarsan in the Presence of Cancer of the Larynx.
SUMMARY
In a case of carcinoma of the larynx, when in consequence of the rapid growth of the tumor the result of the surgical intervention might be endangered, the operation has been performed even in the presence of such a severe complication. Since on the administration of broad-spectrum antibiotics and chemotherapeutics there was no improvement in the patient’s condition the author thought of the presence of salvarsansensitive pathogens. He used salvarsan with very good result. The successfulness of the management makes him think that the use of salvarsan would be justified in other cases too.
