ÖSSZEFOGLALÁS:

Régi törekvés a spontán és provokált nystagrausok regisztrálása pontosabb tanulmányozás céljából. Ismeretesek a mechanieus nystagmographok (pl. Ohm emeltyűs készüléke), optikai nystagmographok, melyeknél a corneára, illetve bulbusra elhelyezett kis tükrök tükröződését használják fel a szemmozgások lerajzolására.

Electronystagmograpliic Recording of Alternating Nystagmus.

SUMMARY

Two cases of alternating nystagmus, a spontaneous nystagmus of central origin, are reported. They were studied by means of electronystagmograph. The nystagmus of one patient was probably due to an encephalitis in childhood. Both the right and the left phase lasted for 80—150°. The rhythm of phases could be readily disturbed wherefore the case was allotted to the group “alternating nystagmus dependent on stimulation“ (reizabhängiger X.). The nystagmus of the other patient is very likely congenital. The left phase lasted for 90—120°, the right one for 80—90°. The rhythm of phases was hardly disturbed by exterior stimuli. This case was listed with the group “dominant alternating nystagmus”. In dark room the nystagmus ceased. To induce it, a diffuse light stimulus sufficed, no shape-seeing was needed. By illuminating the eye in dark room for short periods the latent alternation of nystagmus also was evidenced. The direction of nystagmus elicited by light stimulus corresponds with the direction of central tonus in that moment. They assume therefore that the change of cerebral tonus giving rise to nystagmus is present also at a time when its presence is not signalized by the nystagmus because of the absence of light stimulus.
